How It Works
REGISTER YOUR BOAT
It’s simple. Register your boat, boat motor, electronics, fishing gear or pretty much anything, especially if it has a serial number. This anonymous information is kept private and secure and can be done in seconds.
ALERT THE COMMUNITY
If your boat is stolen, mark it stolen in KYBA which notifies the entire KYBA community and partners. Your boat will now show up in user searches either via keyword, serial number or just by browsing. You will also have the option to add a reward.
THE COMMUNITY RESPONDS
A user or partner encounters your boat, uses the KYBA Project to identify it and contacts you or law enforcement.
YOU GET YOUR BOAT BACK!
With the help of the community – you recover your lost or stolen boat at no cost to you.
Ahead of the curve
The KYBA Project not only attempts to recover thefts but also prevent thefts by registering items ahead of time. If thieves are unable to sell to pawn shops or on marketplaces because they know buyers are able to check the serial numbers they have less incentive to steal in the first place.
Safer than the alternatives
Theft watch groups in social media are helpful but they also create a database of boat owners that are easily searchable with property tax records, effectively creating a “hit list” for thieves. KYBA is completely anonymous and boats aren’t visible until after being marked stolen.
Marine Theft – an expensive problem for everyone
We all share the price for boat theft. Whether it’s directly when your prized family fishing boat is stolen or through insurance premiums that increase exponentially. The KYBA project is the only proven solution that is FREE!
